2mediumapples, peeled, cored, and diced into small pieces
1/4cuppacked brown sugar
1teaspoonground cinnamon
1tablespoonfresh lemon juice
1tablespoonunsalted butter, melted
1eggbeaten (for egg wash)
optionalpowdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). While the oven is heating, line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
Prepare the Apple Filling: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the diced apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Stir well until all the apple pieces are thoroughly coated with the sugary and spiced mixture.
Prepare the Crescent Roll Dough: Open the can of crescent roll dough and unroll it on a clean surface. Follow the package instructions to separate the dough into individual triangles.
Fill the Crescents: Take a spoonful of the apple mixture and place it at the wide end of each crescent triangle. Be careful not to overfill, as this may cause the filling to spill out during baking.
Roll them Up: Starting from the wide end, carefully roll each triangle towards the narrow end, making sure to tuck the filling inside. Pinch the ends tightly to secure the filling within the rolled dough.
Brush and Arrange the Bites: Place the rolled crescent bites onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each. Brush the tops generously with the melted butter, followed by the beaten egg wash to create a golden, glossy finish during baking.
Bake to Perfection: Slide the baking sheet into the preheated oven and bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until the crescent bites are puffed up and a beautiful golden brown color.
Finishing Touches: Once baked, remove the bites from the oven and allow them to cool for a few minutes. If desired, lightly dust them with powdered sugar for an added touch of sweetness and presentation.
Notes
Serve warm and optionally dust with powdered sugar for extra sweetness.
