Ingredients
2
large
apples (Honeycrisp or Fuji)
0.5
cup
granulated sugar
1
tablespoon
ground cinnamon
2
tablespoons
unsalted butter, melted
1
pinch
sea salt
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 200°F (95°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Thoroughly wash the apples and slice each apple into thin rounds, approximately 1/8 inch thick.
In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of sea salt. Stir well.
In a separate bowl, toss the apple slices with the melted unsalted butter until coated.
Add the cinnamon-sugar mixture to the butter-coated apple slices and toss gently.
Lay the apple slices out in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, avoiding overlap.
Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for about 2-3 hours, checking after the first hour.
Remove the apple chips from the oven and allow them to cool completely on the baking sheet.
Store the cooled apple chips in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
Notes
For an extra touch, sprinkle a dash of cinnamon over the top and consider drizzling a little melted caramel sauce.
