Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it’s ready for baking.
In a spacious mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground turkey, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, beaten egg, minced garlic, onion powder, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Use your hands or a spoon to mix thoroughly until all ingredients are uniformly combined.
On a clean countertop, turn out the meat mixture and shape it into a large rectangle, approximately 1-inch thick. Flatten it evenly, ensuring it maintains a consistent thickness.
Lay the mozzarella cheese sticks down the center of the rectangle, leaving about an inch of space from the edges to allow for folding.
Carefully roll the meat mixture over the mozzarella, starting from one side and tucking in the edges as you go to completely enclose the cheese. Form the rolled mixture into a loaf shape, ensuring the seam is on the bottom.
Place the stuffed meatloaf in a generously greased baking dish. Pour the marinara sauce evenly over the top, allowing it to seep slightly into the loaf. Finish by drizzling extra virgin olive oil over the sauce to enhance the flavors.
Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 50 to 60 minutes. The meatloaf is done when the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C) and the juices run clear.
Once baked, let the meatloaf rest for about 10 minutes before slicing. This resting time allows the melted mozzarella to set slightly, making for neater slices.
Notes
Let the meatloaf rest before slicing for neater pieces.
