Ingredients
1
cup
all-purpose flour
2
tablespoons
matcha green tea powder
1/2
teaspoon
baking soda
1/4
teaspoon
salt
1/2
cup
unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
1/2
cup
granulated sugar
1/4
cup
brown sugar, packed tightly
1
large
egg, at room temperature
1
teaspoon
pure vanilla extract
1
cup
white chocolate chips
1/4
cup
macadamia nuts, chopped (optional)
Instructions
Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, matcha powder, baking soda, and salt until the mixture is uniform and free of lumps.
In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the large egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix until fully incorporated.
Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredient mixture and gently mix until just combined.
Carefully fold in the white chocolate chips and chopped macadamia nuts (if using).
Using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, ensuring enough space between each cookie.
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For an elegant touch, dust the tops with extra matcha powder before serving.
